Cancellation Policy

Trip Cancellations

  • More than 90 days before departure: Full refund of deposit, less a service fee to cover administrative costs and any non-recoverable expenses.

  • 60-90 days before departure: 50% refund of the total cost of the trip, excluding the deposit.

  • 30-59 days before departure: 25% refund of the total cost of the trip.

  • Less than 30 days before departure: No refund available.

Gorilla Permits: Gorilla, chimpanzee and golden monkey trekking permits are highly regulated and non-refundable. However, exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis if cancellation is due to medical reasons, subject to providing a valid doctor's certificate. If approved, a handling and administrative fee will be retained.

Cancellation by the Company: In the rare event of a cancellation by the company due to unforeseen circumstances (excluding force majeure), a full refund will be provided or an alternative trip offered.

Force Majeure: In cases of force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, political instability), the company cannot offer refunds. It is recommended that clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover such eventualities.

Changes by the Client: Any changes made by the client after booking may incur additional costs.

Travel Insurance: It is mandatory for all clients to have travel insurance. The policy should cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, and cancellation or curtailment of your trip.

Notification: All cancellations must be made in writing and will be effective on the date received by Rustic Expeditions Ltd.

Accommodation Cancellations

  • More than 30 days before departure: Full refund of deposit, less a service fee to cover administrative costs.

  • 14-30 days before departure: 50% refund of the total cost of the stay.

  • 7-13 days before departure: 25% refund of the total cost of the stay.

  • Less than 7 days before departure: No refund available.

 AirBnB: For any bookings made through AirBnB, the conditions agreed to upon booking through their external service.
